Did you know there are different types of fats? On the daily, you might often hear people say fat is bad for you. Well not in all cases, we, have 4 types of major dietary fats. It is important to know our body needs fat to provide energy and support cell growth. Four types of fats come in different structures and forms. That is how fats are distinguished between being healthy and unhealthy. Also What are the four different types of fats
- Saturated Fats
- Monounsaturated Fats
- Polyunsaturated Fats
- Trans Fats
Trans fat is the most unhealthy fat there is. When looking to consume food it is a good idea to look for 0 trans fat in the nutrition label. Also, look for something that’s not too high on saturated fat. Trans fat is food such as fast food like hamburgers and fries. These are very high in calories and can lead to health problems in the future. ” Trans fats have no known health benefits and that there is no safe level of consumption,” says Harvard
Saturated fats are considered to be unhealthy fat as well. When we think about these two types of fat, they are seen to be much thicker at room temperature. The two fats are much harder to lose at the gym as well. However, consuming saturated fats is known to be ok if limited to 10%.
“One meta-analysis of 21 studies said that there was not enough evidence to conclude that saturated fat increases the risk of heart disease, but that replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated fat may indeed reduce the risk of heart disease.” (Harvard, 2015)
The last two are healthy fats, monounsaturated fat, and Polyunsaturated fat. These two fat are much more liquidly at room temperature. These types of fat can be found in your veggies, nuts, and fishes. These types of fats when consume can be a healthy diet. If you are looking to have your six-pack showing, but still have some fat.
