Spending time with friends and family on holidays is usually the time we pack on a few pounds. Especially on Thanksgiving, however, that does not mean you have to starve yourself. Here are a few tips to stay healthy through the upcoming holidays.
1.Watch Your Calories
On Thanksgiving, Americans consume an average of 4,500 calories, says ABC News. You can decrease the amount of calories by paying attention to your food intake. So don’t starve yourself; eat smarter! Listen to your stomach when it tells you to eat; not eating when your hungry will only make you eat more than you should.
2. Stay active
Don’t just rest up on your days off for the holidays. Participate in activities to help burn off their calories. Too much rest can also cause you to feel a little bit rusty on your next day at work. Keep yourself Muscles and Joints healthy by stretching early in the mornings.
3. Avoid Drinking Too Much Alcohol
Unless you want a beer belly, drink a little during the holidays. Instead of beer, sip on some red wine. Consuming a 12 pack every day, you will never see a six-pack.
4. Drink Plenty Water
Water plays a factor in living a healthy lifestyle. Stay hydrated at all times by drinking water; find out how much water you should drink every day at the following link: Water: How much should you drink every day?
5. Form A New Good Habit
Take the time to relax and think about something you want to change. Being off from work or school is a great time to refresh or restart the next day your going back in action.
